In my last article, I wrote about pathologic fantasies and differentiated them from healthy fantasies that are both exploratory and generative. More needs to be said about the destructive nature of the coercive element in pathologic fantasies.

 A coffee shop in California now advertises the cost of its pour-over coffee as “market price.” This term is commonly used on menus that feature fresh seafood like halibut, oysters, and lobster. The price for these items can vary day to day, so it makes more sense to write the price on a chalkboard posted at the front of the restaurant rather than reprint the menu night after night. But coffee is not lobster.
