A friend called his ophthalmologist last week to confirm his upcoming visit. He hadn’t seen this doctor in a long time. The receptionist answered and reminded him not to forget his mask. “You’re still requiring patients to wear masks?” he asked. She confirmed that was the case. “Then cancel my appointment. I’ll let you know where to forward my medical records.”

He explained his reasoning. “I’m not going to argue. If this doctor is still telling his patients to wear masks, then he clearly isn’t thinking. How can I trust him with my health? What else isn’t he able to think about? I’ll just find a different doctor.”
