President Trump has moved to abolish the Department of Education (DOE). In doing so, he is saving America’s children.

Since its inception in 1980, the DOE has failed American children. Test scores have declined while the power of teachers’ unions has increased. Since 2000, the number of administrators in the government school system has increased by nearly 90%, far greater than the number of teachers. Today the DOE commands a budget of $268 billion, or 4% of federal spending. As a nation, the United States spends more money per capita on education than all western countries other than Switzerland and Luxembourg. And what do we have to show for it? A generation of children who are illiterate, cannot perform basic math, and believe the United States is racist and that a man can become a woman by donning a dress.
