Characterological (personality) disorders that include histrionic, borderline, and narcissist traits have been on the rise for a number of years in American society, particularly among American women. The borderline woman is typically smart and attractive, alluring and seductive, and ensnares men in a destructive relationship cycle through idealization followed by vicious attack, as she blames his perceived inadequacies for her outsized emotional pain. She treats him like a god, playing to his ego, before breaking him down after turning him into a villain.

There is a new borderline in town, though. This emerging group of borderline women exhibits all the disordered qualities of the traditional borderline, except these women have dispensed with the seduction phase and moved directly to the destructive end stage. I call them Borderline 2.0.
